Stuart W. McDonald, B.S.C.E., P.E. Mr. McDonald is the founder and President of Aestus, LLC. Mr. McDonald has over 16 years experience in site characterization, engineering design and construction management. His background includes extensive field operations management for remediation activities including superfund sites, LNAPLs, DNAPLs, fugitive hydrocarbons, slurry wall design and QA/QC responsibilities. He also has performed as an expert witness in litigation proceedings.
Todd Halihan, B.S., M.S.G.S., Ph.D. Dr. Halihan is the Director of Research & Development for Aestus, LLC and Assistant Professor for the School of Geology at Oklahoma State University. Dr. Halihan's expertise includes site characterization and monitoring of LNAPL using Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT), direct push ERT for evaluation of LNAPL plumes, ERT effectiveness for locating subsurface hydrocarbon contamination and integrated subsurface imaging techniques for detecting cavities in karst environments. Dr. Halihan has extensive geophysics experience including ground penetrating radar, and developed analytical models, and well head hydrogeology techniques. Dr. Halihan has characterized numerous sites throughout the United States and also in several other countries.
Thomas R. Fenstemaker, B.S.G.S., M.S.G.S. Mr. Fenstemaker is the Director of Technology Development for Aestus, LLC and is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Nevada, Reno. Mr. Fenstemaker research interests include coupled heat and solute transport, reactive transport and variable density transport in fractured and porous media; basin-scale physical and geochemical modeling; improving geophysical methods to detect fluid migration patterns in shallow sediments. He has numerous publications, conference papers, articles, abstracts and reports. Mr. Fenstemaker is currently working on several improvements to ERT and other characterization techniques employed by Aestus.
